When controlling a PTZ camera from the Cam2 app, you can now adjust the movement speed using the new Rotation Speed slider. Slow it down for finer control, or speed it up to move quickly – the pace is in your hands during live monitoring.

For direct camera connections, manual speed control is supported on current firmware.

For PTZ cameras connected through an NVR, support arrives with the upcoming NVR firmware v1.4.14 together with
camera firmware v5.3.1.

Finding footage is now faster and more flexible. Previously, searches were limited to the device you were currently viewing. Now, you can search for any device connected to your app directly from a single search interface.

The interface itself is simpler too. Object type, time range, alarm type, and channels are all available from a single screen. Search is also now reachable directly from the main menu.

Introduced with NVR firmware v1.4.13, One-Click Search is now available in the Cam2 app.

Find any person across all your connected cameras with a single tap – no typing, no descriptions. From live view or playback, select any person on screen, and within seconds, see every appearance of them, ranked by similarity. You’re not following one camera — you’re following the person across your whole site.

Shared users can now search for events across all devices shared with them. Any event type is covered – loitering, line crossing, face detection, and more – allowing users to quickly find the footage they need without relying on the account owner.

Shared access now includes the full search experience, from live view to event search.

Your recorded footage stays safe, even after a camera is removed. Delete a camera channel from the NVR, and its backed-up recordings remain on the NVR hard drive — still fully playable in Cam2 through Remote Playback.

Cam2 v1.17 introduces the Text Search interface, laying the groundwork for future AI-powered search.

The AI search engine, currently under development and planned for our upcoming Pro-Sight series, will allow users to search recorded footage using natural language descriptions such as “a man with a dog” or “a white vehicle”.

While the search engine is still in development, the interface is already integrated into Cam2 and ready for its future release.
