NDAA Compliance and Statement

The NDAA Enactment

The National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2019, commonly known as the NDAA, is a critical legislative measure enacted on August 13, 2018

At its core, Section 889 of the NDAA establishes uncompromising regulations governing the procurement and usage of telecommunications and video surveillance equipment or services by federal agencies, their contractors, and recipients of government grants or loans.

This requirement unquestionably prohibits acquiring or deploying technology from specific Chinese companies deemed potential security risks within critical infrastructure or systems essential to national security.
Notable among these restricted entities are Huawei Technologies Company and ZTE Corporation, renowned telecommunications giants Hytera Communications Corporation, Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology Company, and Dahua Technology Company, prominent video surveillance equipment manufacturers.

By implementing these prohibitions, the NDAA aims to safeguard sensitive dataprotect critical infrastructure, and reduce risks associated with unauthorized access or exploitation of vulnerabilities.
Compliance with NDAA directives is imperative for entities operating within sectors intersecting with government agencies or reliant on federal funding. Upholding these regulations underscores a
commitment to national security imperatives and reinforces resilience against emerging threats in an ever-evolving cybersecurity landscape.
